Hokkaido

Located in the north, Hokkaido ranked number one in 2019 for raising a whopping 512,800 Japanese Black Cattle. Hokkaido is known for its freezing temperatures and extreme winters.  In fact, the arctic-like weather condenses the muscle fibers causing its marbling to be reminiscent of the snow.  When coupled with organic feed, and attentive farmers, the highest quality beef yield is ensured. Hokkaido’s A5+ Wagyu flavor is best described as rich and buttery.
